Ann Walsvik

Ann is a gentle healing listener with a spiritually grounded presence.

She is gifted at creating a warm, welcome space to explore the complexities of one’s life with curiosity, compassion and hope.  As a Spiritual Director, Ann is a listening presence who is intentionally present to your life story and invites one's shy soul (inner wisdom, Spirit of truth) to reveal itself for spiritual well-being and wholeness.  Attentive to the patterns, synchronicities and coincidences in one's life story, Ann tenderly invites a closer look.

As a Grief Counselor, Ann provides companionship through times of loss, transition, and change with a warm, tender presence.  She does individual grief support, and support group facilitation with knowledge and awareness of the range of emotions and isolating affects of grief.  She is also abreast of cultural understandings, platitudes, and how grief can trigger a trauma response.  Ann gives space for the griever to be authentic in their expression of grief.  With Ann as companion, together they will listen for the insights to be revealed for the journey of navigating grief.

Education and Training: Ann is a trained Spiritual Director through the Franciscan Spirituality Center of La crosse, WI.  Ann has experience as a Spiritual & Grief Counselor in hospice, working with bereaved individually and as a facilitator of grief support groups. She is certified as a Grief Support Companion through the program: Honoring Grief, Intending to Heal.  She also walks with folks through separation, divorce, working through the spiritual aspects of trauma, and disenfranchisement with church/religion.

Though her background is as a Christian, her emphasis is interfaith, and spirit work using her listening skills and various spiritual practices to meet folks where they are. She graduated from Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, IA in 2015 with an MDiv,  was ordained as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and served one congregational call and as a hospice chaplain.
